Jibril Eljaouhari is a self guided painter, portraitist and print-maker based in Oakland, CA. He grew up in Texas, briefly lived in Colorado and is now in California building an intentional artistic community.

His work focuses on the metaphorical interstices between identity, intimacy, transsexuality, the formal Body and how they all filter through the lens of a queer, Moroccan diaspora. He enjoys working plein air and talking to passersby as he paints- discussion of + interaction with art is important to him. His work spans a range of material, including: oil, acrylic, marker, screenprint, linocut, tufting and digital.

Things will never be the same again- but they never had to be in the first place.
